How would you answer the question, “Are you growing?” Just as “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man”, Luke 2:52 so we are to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”. 2 Peter 3:18 It’s like a garden…you don’t just plant the seed and that’s it! It takes constant care and looking after to produce fruit. In the meantime, those pesky weeds keep popping up that you have to remove so they don’t take over…In the same way, God in His mercy and forgiveness, gives us the Holy Spirit (teacher, comforter, cleansing from sin) who comes alongside to help us grow, “to be rooted and established in God’s love”. Ephesians 3:17 The fruit of God’s love evidenced in our lives will help others to grow in their relationship with Jesus!
