Romans 5: 1-5
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into his grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that sufferings produces perseverance; perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
When we accept Jesus by faith (we believe even when we cannot see, hear, or feel), we become justified (just as if we have never committed any wrong) by his life, death and resurrection. So now we can rejoice in hope and have peace with God. We can move on to growing even in our sufferings, to never give up, to build our character and hope to become like Jesus. If we hold fast to this hope, we will never be disappointed because God has put his love into our hearts by the power in the Holy Spirit, whom he has given to us now, here on the earth.
Father thank you that through Jesus Christ, we can be in a right relationship with you. Help us to grow to become more like Jesus even in our sufferings. Thank you for your hope and love that you have placed in our hearts. You alone are worthy to be praised, in Jesus’ name, amen.
