Early Methodism grew and multiplied with the gathering of small groups of believers sharing faith and life together. Weekly connection, fellowship, study of the Scriptures, prayer and accountability to the work of the Holy Spirit in each of their lives spurred them on in faith and action. The outcome was growing and maturing Christians. Spiritual growth is a process by which we experience the presence of God bringing us more and more into the image of God, being more like Jesus.
