Psalm 34: 1-8

I will exalt the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

A Thought

Our world is in the middle of a pandemic of sin, sickness and death. This Psalm is a good reminder for all of us to lift up the name of our God in all things with praise especially in any time of affliction. We need to glorify and exalt his name at all times. We must seek the Lord if we are to be delivered from all our fears. We must humble our selves in prayer filled with praise, and the angel of the Lord will surround us and save us out of our troubles as we take refuge in him because God is good.

Our Prayer

Father we are reminded that your perfect love casts out all fear. We can trust you to deliver us from all sin, sickness and death. Thank you for the privilege of knowing that our refuge and happiness is in you. You are faithful to provide all good things even in times of hardships. We rejoice in you, your word and our deliverance. Teach us to watch, pray and to rejoice in you. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
