Psalm 139: 1-6, 13-18
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you receive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you knows it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in–behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
For you created my innermost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast are the sum of them! If I were to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
A Thought
God, who is all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present, has no beginning and no end, created each of us fearfully and wonderfully while we were still in our mother’s womb. God designed us with his purpose and gave us everything we need to accomplish his call for our lives. God knows us, loves us and God makes no mistakes. There is nothing in our lives that God does not know. Now he wants us to get to know him. God has made it possible for all who will believe, trust and follow his holy word to be in relationship with him through his Son Jesus Christ.
Our Prayer
Father thank you for giving us life and more importantly–eternal life to live forever with you when we accept your plan for our lives. Your love and greatness is too much knowledge for us to understand. We accept you design and purpose for our lives. Fill us with your love and acceptance of your call to each of us. Reveal your word by the power of the Holy Spirit that we will faithfully follow you. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
