2 Corinthians 4: 3-6
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they can not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
A Thought
In our world of today, much like in Paul’s day, the cares of the world have blinded the eyes of all who do not receive Christ, who is the light of the world. Before we believed in the gospel of Christ, the god of this world, Satan, had blinded us to focus on ourselves for pleasure, power, money, fame, and on our possessions. When we received Christ, through the knowledge of his word, our focus changed to how we can become more like Christ, to serve others, and to share the light of Christ. Those who are perishing do not come to the light because they love the darkness and do not want their evil deeds exposed.
Our Prayer
Father thank you for opening our eyes to the light of Christ and exposing our guilt of sin that we may receive your love and grace to be forgiven; to walk in the light of your love. We pray for the power of your Holy Spirit to remove the veil of darkness from the eyes of our loved ones so they will see your glory in our face and except the truth of the gospel. In Jesus’ name we ask.
