Ephesians 2: 4-10

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show his incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Jesus Christ. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

A Thought

God created a gift for each of us to receive that will take us from spiritual death unto eternal life. This gift was bought and paid for in full by the death and resurrection of God’s own Son, Jesus Christ. We could never pay for this gift for ourselves, but it is freely given in mercy (something we do not deserve) and kindness because of the great love God has for each of us. Although this gift is free, we must ask and receive it by faith, believing that we have received it from God without being able to see it with our eyes, only knowing in our heart that we are now delivered from the spiritual death of sin and now we are alive in Christ to do his good works.

Our Prayer

Father thank you for your great love and mercy for each of us. Send your Holy Spirit to all who read this message that they will be encouraged to receive your gift of grace by faith— a new life in Christ and will do the good works that you have created for each to do for your kingdom. We ask for your deliverance in Jesus’ name, amen.
