1 John 1: 1-4

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched–this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

A Thought

John, a disciple in “whom Jesus loved” writes with encouragement to a generation of persecuted Christians believers to remember the Son of God, Jesus Christ. John, Peter, James along with the other disciples had seen and heard first hand the life, death and resurrection of their friend Jesus Christ. John proclaims that Jesus who was from the beginning with God, appeared to bring the Word of life to give eternal life and fellowship with the Father and with his Son to make our joy complete.

Our Prayer

Father thank you that your word is filled with faith to bring joy to our hearts. We are reminded of your great love for each of us that you gave your Son to appear on earth as a man in order that we may receive your love, fellowship and joy to be complete in your grace of eternal life made possible by Jesus’ shed blood. Awaken us to be focused on fellowship with you and others filled with your joy that we may testify to the Word of eternal life offered to all who will receive in Jesus’ name, amen.
