Kevin Watson and Scott Kisker have teamed up to write two books, The Class Meeting and The Band Meeting. (A resource that can be ordered through Seedbed,com). They proceed to lay the ground work by visiting the early Methodist movement through the ministry of John Wesley and others of his day. The Spirit of the Lord worked mightily through John Wesley’s “method” of class meetings and band meetings; these small groups of believers gathered together to grow deeper in love for God and love for one another. It was the means by which the faith of new disciples could be nurtured and strengthened through “watching over one another in love” and encouragement to attend to the means of grace God has given to us.
