John 15: 9-17

“As my Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this:  Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love have no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I have chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command:  Love each other.

A Thought

Are you a friend of Jesus Christ? Because of his love for his Father and his love for each of us, Christ has chosen us to be his friend by freely laying down his life for each of us. Christ has made all things possible for us to receive his love and the love of his Father. Christ has taught us in his Word the commands of the Father whereby, we will be a part of his perfect plan for complete obedience, love and to bear fruit for his Kingdom where there will be no sin, sickness or death. The only way to the Father comes through his Son, in faith believing. We must be obedient to his Word, love each and share this “good news” so others might believe. Christ is the Way to believe, obey, love and to honor the Father. When we will have the mind of Christ to accomplish the Father’s business to produce fruit for his Kingdom, we can ask the Father for whatever in Jesus’ name and the Father will do it.

Our Prayer

Father thank you for your perfect plan of love and righteousness for our lives to be a friend of Jesus. Wake us up to the truth of your Word; we desire to be obedient with our hearts filled with your love for you and for others. We desire to bring others into your Kingdom, so we ask for your Spirit to fill us with your joy and lead us to make disciples for you, in the name of Jesus, amen.
