Psalm 92: 1-4, 12-15
It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.
For you made me glad by your deeds, O Lord; I sing for joy at the works of your hands.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
A Thought
Do you have a desire to grow to become more like Jesus the Christ? People say that where we grow in the character of Jesus is when we make the right choices in the valleys of our lives.Try this simple suggestion when the trails of life (heaviness, discouragement, the blahs, nobody cares, disappointment, heartache or too much to do) come at you. Try what David learned to do. Take your focus off yourself and your situation; start singing praise to our God who is faithful, loving and worthy off all our praise; consider the great things God has accomplished for us; He will forgive all of our sins and make us righteous in his eyes. Today is a new gift from God our Father. How we spend it is up to us. God is our refuge, strength and yes, our solid Rock that we stand on. Honor God with praises and He will fill you with joy! Praise the name of our God! Amen!
Our Prayer
Father thank you for giving life to us. We desire to honor you with the choices we make. We want to grow as your children. Fill our hearts with praise for you. Our hope is in you, our God, our maker and our redeemer! Praise your holy name! We ask that your Spirit open the eyes of our heart that we will focus on living in your Word to become more like your Son and produce fruit for your kingdom, in Jesus’ name, amen.
