2 Corinthians 5: 20-21
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
A Thought
When Christ was speaking to the Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling body, that he must be born again Jesus was explaining God’s plan to redeem all mankind who would believe and accept by faith to be set free from the judgement of sin. Jesus lived a perfect life and died a death of a condemned man. Therefore, now through Christ we can be brought back in a right relationship with God because we are made righteous because of Christ’s blood shed for us. Now we have an obligation to be Christ’s representative to tell the world the plan God has for each of us to be set free from the judgement of sin. This is the same message found in John chapter 3 that Jesus gave to Nicodemus.
Our Prayer
Father thank you for your plan for our lives to live in harmony with you and each other. This was all made possible by your gift of your Son to save the world from the bondage of sin. We ask that you empower us with your Holy Spirit to be you representative of love, mercy and your righteousness to make your appeal to this world of darkness and disobedience that we who believe can grow to become more like Christ, in Jesus’ name, amen.
