Psalm 123

I lift up my eyes to you, to you whose throne is in heaven. As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.

Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. We have endured much ridicule from the proud, much contempt from the arrogant.

A Thought

When the world of sin looks down on us, we must look to our God whose throne is in heaven. God has made our every provision for his love and mercy. We must trust and call out to our God. We must endure the ridicule and contempt of others who come against us, as we look to the hand of our Heavenly Father who is faithful to show his mercy to us.

Our Prayer

Father our eyes look to you for your love and mercy. Thank you for your Spirit that lives within us. Empower us to show your mercy to others that would speak evil or look down on us as we wait to receive your mercy. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
