Ephesians 3: 14-21
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all new ask or imagine, according to his power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
A Thought
Paul revealed the mystery of God’s grace given through Jesus Christ that the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel as members together as one body, the Church. Paul prays to the Father that out of his glorious riches; they will receive power through his Spirit; that Christ will dwell in their hearts through faith; that they will be rooted in love; that they may understand the love of Christ that is greater than knowledge; and that they will be filled with the full measure of God. Paul closes his prayer with praise to God, who is able to do more than we can ask or imagine because of his power at work within us. Glory to God throughout all generations in the church and in Jesus Christ for ever and ever! Let it be so!
Our Prayer
Our Father we thank you that we have received the mystery of Jesus Christ. We ask that your Spirit be at work in our lives to strengthen us with power to accept the faith for Christ to live through us to be established in his love as we learn more about your love for us. We desire to give your love to all generations in Jesus’ name, amen.
