Psalm 34: 6-14
Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him will lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Whoever of your loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
To fear the Lord is to discern what is good, to turn from evil, to do good, to seek peace and pursue it while trusting God to do his perfect work in each of us through his Son, Jesus the Christ, by the power of his Holy Spirit. So, taste and see the goodness of God that will lead us to repentance and we can take refuge in him for all things as we pursue a life pleasing to him.
Holy Father, we thank you for making all things possible for all who will trust in you. We ask for your gift of wisdom to know you better and to follow you in complete trust while we surrender our old life to you as we accept our new everlasting life in you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
