Isaiah 35: 4-7a

“Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will welcome a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs.

A Thought

The prophet Isaiah had just spoken God’s judgement against the Nations and now Isaiah speaks hope to the redeemed of the Lord to be strong and do not fear. God will come and save his people and God will take vengeance on those who reject him. The redeemed will see with their eyes and hear with their ears and they will leap with joy. God will establish his justice and destroy evil; even the desert and the wilderness will flow with water.

Our Prayer

Heavenly Father thank you for judgement that will make the way for your new creation where all who are redeemed by the blood of your Son will rejoice and live with you forever in your perfect kingdom. Thank you that Jesus paid the price for all of our sins and now we are made righteous when we humbly acknowledge our sinful nature in repentance and put on our new nature, filled with his love and mercy to live our life in obedience to your Word. We desire to know you better, to serve you and others as we rejoice in you. In the name of our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.
