Proverbs 1: 28-33

Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me. Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord, since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.

 A Thought

Does there come a time when the foolish have chosen a life where they refused to listen and receive God in their lives? We have all committed sin and deserve punishment. Some people do not want to humble theirselves and repent (meaning to be sorrowful and willing to change). God demands that we do things his way by receiving the grace of his son, Jesus Christ. He wants control of our lives. He created each of us and knows what is best for us. He does not want to be just an old spare tire, we pull out only when needed. Remember, when we do listen and trust God, we have no need to fear. Grace paid the price for punishment of our sin through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

 Our Prayer

Father, help each of us to seek you before it’s too late. Help us to listen to you through your holy word, the Bible. In Jesus’ name we ask, amen.
