Hebrews 5: 11-14
We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from devil.
A Thought
We know when we sin we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He will forgive us when we ask in faith believing. When we sin, we need to learn from our mistakes and not keep sinning. God compares our walk with him as a child that will not learn to eat solid food, always wanting to be a baby and not grow up. God wants us to grow in wisdom and knowledge, to be able to recognize the difference between good and evil, and learn to teach others about the righteousness of God and his word.
Our Prayer
Father, help us to grow as your disciple, study your word, and be willing to teach the things that we have learned to others. Thank you that we can go beyond repentance and move into a life set aside for service to you and others. Help us to grow up and be mature. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.
