Hebrews 9: 24-28
For Christ did not enter a manmade sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with with blood that is not his own. Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as a man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
A Thought
Physical death is a result of sin. All have sinned so our physical body will die. Christ, born to the Virgin Mary, knew no sin but died a sinners death on a cross where each of us deserved to die. All that will accept his blood of forgiveness, will only go through the shadow of death. Our body will rest in the grave until Christ’s return; then our body will be resurrected to join our soul and spirit that was returned to God who gave it. Now is the day we are offered complete forgiveness of all sins. When Christ appears again all who received forgiveness in Christ, will then receive salvation never to sin or to suffer sickness again. We will live forever!
Our Prayer
Father help us to accept your love and forgiveness. We want to be found waiting for the return of your son, Jesus the Christ that we may live eternally with you without sin. Thank you for preparing our new body and new life eternal with you. Fill us with your Holy Spirit that we will share our witness of your good news to all that we meet. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
