Revelation 1: 4b-8

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father — to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

Look, he is coming in the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

A Thought

Revelation was revealed to John by Jesus Christ. John wrote what he saw and heard to the seven existing churches of John’s day to reveal things that were previously hidden or unknown. If we desire to know about the things that are in store for the righteous and the ungodly, we should study this book. The redeemed of Jesus Christ will receive rewards and the ungodly will receive judgement for their sins. The time is near.

Our Prayer

Father, thank you for the forgiveness of sin because of the blood that Jesus shed for each of us. Help us to show your love and grace to all we meet so they too might receive a reward from you and not have to face your judgement for their sin. Thank you that Jesus is trustworthy and true: he is coming back for each of us and sin will be destroyed forever. In Jesus name. Amen.
