John 3: 16,17
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
The Thought
My thought today has to be the powerful message of truth in these two verses of scripture. The fact that God loved me so much that he was able to give his one and only Son to die a sinners death in exchange for my life. Jesus did not come to condemn me for the sins I was committing; he came to save me from sin. He took all my sin and shame and placed on it himself when he was beaten, nailed to a wooden cross, and died. He was able to conquer death, hell, and the grave when he was resurrected on the third day. This is a gift that God has made available to all who will believe on Jesus Christ. God has also sent the third part of his heavenly Kingdom, the Holy Spirit, to earth to comfort and to teach us to believe his word and to grow in relationship with him, God the Father. Let each of us give thanks and praise to our Heavenly Father and bring glory and honor to his name. God alone is worthy of all praise and glory.
Our Prayer
Father, thank you for all good things; for making forgiveness possible, to be able to talk to you, and to trust you to lead us by your Spirit unto all truth. We can trust you with our life, our family and loved ones, and in every situation. Thank you that through you all things are possible. We love and thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
