I Thessalonians 3: 9-13
How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.
Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with his holy ones.
A Thought
Paul had sent Timothy back to check on the new-born Church at Thessalonica and their faith. This was a time when the church was under much persecution for their belief in Jesus Christ. Paul is praising God for Timothys’ report of them continuing in steadfast love and faith. Paul is also encouraging them to be strengthen and to grow in holiness so they will be ready when the Lord Jesus returns. How about your faith walk? Are you steadfast and continuing to grow to be more like Jesus? Will you be blameless when our Lord Jesus returns?
Our Prayer
Father help us to continue to pray and to grow in faith and holiness. Prepare us to be ready for the return of Jesus Christ so that we will eternally dwell with you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
