Hebrews 10: 5-10
Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am — it is written about me in the scroll — I have come to do your will, O God.’ ” First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them” (although the law required them to be made). Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once and for all.
A Thought
It is important to remember this Advent season that sacrifices and offerings of the law could never forgive sins nor did they please God. God set aside the first that was imperfect and made way the the perfect blood sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ. We can now be made holy and perfect once and for all. Won’t you believe the good news of Christmas that is now available for all? Won’t you say, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.”
Our Prayer
Father thank you for making our personal relationship with you now possible as it was in the Garden of Eden because of the perfect gift of your son Jesus Christ. Help each of us to walk and talk with you every day in a manner where others will want to be reconciled to you because of your love for all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
