Luke 3: 21-22

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

A Thought

The baptism of Jesus was the beginning of his ministries. Jesus had no sin therefore, he did not have need of repentance. In todays scripture we find Jesus being baptized in water; Jesus praying and a visible sign of the Holy Spirit upon on him; then, a voice from heaven declaring this to be his beloved son. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all found in these two short scriptures and God was well pleased.

Our Prayer

Father help each of us to receive the fullness of who you are through the forgiveness of your Son and the power of the Holy Spirit. We desire for you to be well pleased with our service to others and to you. Please forgive us when we fall short. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
