2 Corinthians 5: 16-21

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who has no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

A Thought

Man was made in the likeness and image of God. Man had fellowship and walked with God in the Garden of Eden. Man disobeyed God; fellowship with God was broken and death was born through sin. When we accept the death and resurrection of Jesus who knew no sin, we are a new creation, reconciled to God. Our old sins are not held against us and we are now the righteousness of God. We are God’s ambassadors who should appeal to others on Christ’s behalf that they will also be reconciled to God and receive his forgiveness with their sins no longer held against them.

Our Prayer

Father thank you that through Christ Jesus, we can be a new creation who is reconciled to you. Help us to be your ambassadors to lead others into a right relationship with you. Empower us with your Holy Spirit and give us a boldness with the right words to speak. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
