Isaiah 43: 16-21
This is what the Lord says–he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen people, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
A Thought
God is reminding the Israelites that he is the God that made a way for them to be brought out of the slavery of Egypt and he is now doing a new thing. God has made a way of salvation for all: God is the one who will blot out their transgressions and remember their sins no more. God will give drink to his chosen people. But God desires praise so that he can bless all of their generations to come. God desires that we also move on from our sins and remember to praise him so he will bless our generations to come.
Our Prayer
Father thank you that you alone have made our forgiveness possible through your son, Jesus Christ. Help us remember to leave our sinful life behind, to remember to praise your holy name, and to proclaim that you are King, Redeemer, the Lord God Almighty so others will learn your great love for all mankind alike. Help us to perceive what you are wanting to do in our lives today. We praise your name through Jesus’ Christ, amen.
