EASTER shouts, “He is risen! He is risen, indeed!” “He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know lives? He lives within my heart!” (He Lives by Alfred Ackley) Discipleship begins with a heart response to our living Savior! We continue to grow in heart and life as we look to God’s Word and His Spirit for daily strength and instruction. We may plan out each day but it is the Lord who determines our steps. (Prov. 16:9) We can only know those “steps” by abiding in His presence daily. Giving our full attention to fixing our eyes on Jesus, tuned to His Spirit (My sheep know my voice) and attached to the Vine. Apart from Him we can do nothing. We then become His presence in and the world. Just as Mary left the empty tomb, going to tell the disciples and the disciples telling the world, we carry the message on….HE LIVES! HE LIVES! SALVATION TO IMPART! I know because He lives within my heart!
