Psalm 150
Praise the Lord.
Praise God in the sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
A Thought
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are all worthy of praise in the sanctuary, in the heavens, and in all the earth. Everything that has breath should praise God in all things and at all times because God is the only one that is worthy of praise. Sounds like God loves the sounds of music, singing, dancing with loud clashes of instruments. Do we have any praise for God in our churches, in our homes, in our community, in our celebrations? What do we praise–our family, ourselves, our status, our favorite team, money, power, nobility, beauty, education? Is something wrong with this picture?
Our Prayer
Father we fall so short of giving you the praise that you deserve. Help us to think less of ourselves and more about your greatness, power and mercy. Help us to be filled with your power to praise you and witness your love and mercy to others. You alone are worthy of praise, in Jesus’ name, amen.
