Acts 9: 17-20
Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord–Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here–has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.
A Thought
What a complete change has taken place in Saul since he has encountered Jesus. Ananias obeyed the voice of the Lord by laying hands on Saul and telling him to receive his sight and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Immediately Saul regained his sight, got up and was baptized, ate and regained his strength. After spending days with the disciples, Saul begins to preach that Jesus is the Son of God. Just a few days ago Saul was conspiring to kill all that would call on the name of Jesus. Now the Jews are going to try to kill Saul.
Our Prayer
Father thank you that you have created each of us with gifts and talents to become the person you have chosen to bring glory and honor to your name. Thank you for the complete change that can take place in our lives when we believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and remove the scales of darkness from our eyes. We desire to hear your voice through your word and to become your disciples. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
