Psalm 148: 1-14

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts. Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shinning stars. Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for he commanded and they were created. He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree that will never pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds, kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth, young men and maidens, old men and children. Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens. He has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his saints, of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

A Thought

Today as I walk around outside, I see the beauty of the earth. The new life in the garden, green leaves on the trees, the plants with colorful blooms, they all seem to be saying the same message, “Praise the Lord.” God is sharing his creation with all the earth for each of us to enjoy. Everything was created to bring glory and honor to our creator God. God has given his people a horn–a strong One, King, Savior to bring us back in fellowship with him. Let’s all take time today and every day to draw near to the heart of God, to sing and shout, “Praise the Lord”.

Our Prayer

Father thank you. Praise your holy name! You alone are worthy of praise. We desire to exalt your name above all that is in the earth. We owe all of our lives to you. Help us to grow in a closer relationship with you through your word, prayer, praise, worship, trust, and our witness of your love and grace to others. Help us to deny ourselves and fully surrender to the power of your Holy Spirit. We ask, in Jesus’ name, amen.
