Colossians 3: 12-17
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word of deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
A Thought
When we accept Jesus Christ as our only way back to our Heavenly Father, we are to let Christ rule in our heart making us to be more like him; filled with his love, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, and thankfulness. We should forgive others as Christ has forgiven us so we can live in perfect unity as members of one body. We should be filled with the wisdom of God’s word to enable us to teach and build up others. Whatever we do or say, we should do it as unto the Lord giving thanks to God our Father with spiritual songs filled with praise.
Our Prayer
Father thank you that you have chosen each of us to be holy through your son, Jesus Christ. We invite the power of the Holy Spirit to teach us how to permit Christ to rule in our heart. We desire to be filled with your virtues of love to enable perfect unity with you and with others. Thank you for providing all we need through your love for us in Jesus’ name, amen.
