Hebrews 12: 1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out before us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and the protector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
A Thought
We are strengthened in our faith walk as we all share together what Jesus Christ has done in our lives. We need to keep on eyes on Jesus, put off the sinful things, and faithfully run the race set before us even when we face difficulties. Jesus endured the shame, pain of the cross for us. Now he sits at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for us. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Our Prayer
Father thank you for the witness of your believers that was handed down in your word to strengthen our faith in you. Help us to be single minded with our eyes on Christ, not to be entangled in the cares of this world. Help us to know the things that we need to put off and the things of you we need to put on to run the race set before us daily. Thank you for all that was accomplished by your Son for each of us. We love you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
