Hebrews 13: 1-8
Keep on loving each other brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
the word of God “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
A Thought
The world has changed their moral character of how to treat God and others, but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. God’s word is Truth and it is the standard by which we will all be judged. We must love God and show his love to others whether they are in prison, mistreated, or suffering. We must be faithful in our commitment to God and to our marriage partner. We must be content with what we have–not always wanting more things or more money. We must remember our Spiritual leaders and gain strength from their way of life living in faith.
Our Prayer
Father Help us to remain faithful to your word and to others, and to always know you will never leave or forsake us. Help us to never leave or forsake you, but to always be content to trust you. Thank you for the many who bring “the good news” and live by your word in faith to lead us in a personal relationship with you through your son, Jesus Christ. We ask with humility for forgiveness in our commitment to you, in our marriages, and remembering to help provide the needs of others. Thank you in Jesus’ name, amen.
