Psalm 66: 1-12

Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious! Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name.”

Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf! He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot–come, let us rejoice in him. He rules forever by his power, his eyes watch the nations–let not the rebellion rise up against him. Selah

Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through the fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.

A Thought

The writer is looking back with praise for the many works that God has done in man’s behave. God still watches for people who will serve him with praise. When we place our faith in God, he will make all things work for our good. Even when we go through the trials and tribulations of this life, it is to refine us to become the people God has created us to be. God is always worthy of our praise. Will you chose today to sing songs or speak works of praise to the One who is preserving, watching, and providing for your every need? When you sing the wonder of the words of our hymnal, do you really sing with joy to our God filled with praise? Let’s give God glory, honor, and praise every day!

Our Prayer

Father thank you for your love and mercy for your children. Help us to see you at work to change our weakness into your strength when our lives are filled with trails and temptations. Help us to continue in faith to trust you to bring us to your place of safety and abundance; to always sing praise to your holy name because you’re worthy of all praise and honor in all circumstances.  We love you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
