2 Thessalonians 3: 1-5
Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
A Thought
Paul had introduced the Thessalonians to Jesus the Christ and now they have embraced Paul’s ministry of love, being like minded with Christ in spirit and purpose. Paul asks for their prayers that the gospel message will be received and spread rapidly. Paul sends encouragement for them to know God is faithful to protect them from the evil one so they may be persevered in Christ with God’s love directing them. We should each continue to grow in Christ; pray for the ministers of the gospel, for each other that we may be witnesses of his love and faithfulness.
Our Prayer
Father we ask that your message of hope in Jesus Christ be received with faith, to spread rapidly throughout our world today. Encourage all your ministers of the truth to be strengthened by your word and protected from the evil one. Direct our hearts to grow to be more like Christ filled with your love and to be your witnesses lead by your Spirit. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
