Luke 1: 76-79
And you my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
A Thought
God gave Zechariah the prophecy first about the salvation for the house of David and now Zechariah speaks God’s message concerning John, his eight day old son. John will be a prophet of the Most High, going before Him to prepare the way for the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of sins. By God’s tender mercy, light will now shine in darkness and will guide his people in a path of peace. This prophecy of salvation and peace has been fulfilled for all will receive it. Our Prayer
Father thank you that your word is truth and we can be set free from the darkness of this world. We can receive salvation through repentance because of your tender mercy. You will guide us in your path of peace, if we will trust you. Help us to awaken by the power of your Holy Spirit. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
