Philippians 4: 4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me–put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
A Thought
What type of person do you choose to be–a person of worry or a person filled with joy? Yes, the choice is ours. I don’t think anyone wants to be filled with worry and anxiety. Here God teachers how to choose to be a happy, joyous person. A joyous, gentle person will present everything by prayer and petition to God with thanksgiving knowing he is near. A joyous person will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus by thinking on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy. Let’s practice living a live of joy and peace by prayer and trust in God and his word.
Our Prayer
Father help us to study your word, to meditate on you with prayer and thanksgiving. Help us to be filled with your joy and peace by trusting you in all things. Help us to train our hearts and minds to only think on good things. Come Holy Spirit, come. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
