Romans 15: 1-6
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A Thought
When we first receive Christ we are weak in our faith, but as we study the Scriptures we must grow to become more like Christ. As we submit our spirit to the Spirit of Christ, God will give us hope filled with endurance and encouragement. As we grow we must then help those who are weak in faith to be encouraged and to help them to be filled with hope and endurance. All Christians should work together in unity to bring glory to God and to grow to become more like Christ.
Our Prayer
Father help us to gain hope and encouragement as we work in unity together to help the world see Christ in us. You are the only hope in our world of today. We must repent and be willing to change our focus from ourselves to you and for the good of others. Come, Holy Spirit, come. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
