Revelation 21: 1-6a
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or morning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.
A Thought
Remember back in Genesis when God had created the Garden of Eden where He placed Adam and Eve to nurture, to enjoy and to be in fellowship with Him? Unfortunately, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God and were told to leave the perfect garden. God sent his Son to earth to redeem all that will believe and accept forgiveness through repentance. Now, it is revealed that God’s final judgement of death will fall on all who will not believe and all sin will be totally destroyed. Then, God will create a new heaven and a new earth where God will dwell and live with his people. God will wipe away every tear; there will be no death or morning or crying; the old will have passed away. Things will be made complete and perfect as it was intended in the beginning by the Alpha and the Omega.
Our Prayer
Father thank you for making it possible to surrender to you and to your word. Thank you for sending your Son as our perfect sacrifice for our disobedience to you. Thank you that our old nature of sin will be passed away competely and we will live eternally with you in the Holy City, the New Jerusalem. Thank you that you are trustworthy and true. We praise you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
