Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let Israel say, “His love endures forever.”
Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me, you have become my salvation.
The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
O Lord, save us; O Lord, grand us success. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord we bless you. The Lord is God, and he has made his light to shine upon us. With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession up to the horns of the altar. You are my God and I will give you thanks; you are my God and I exalt you.
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good; his loves endures forever.
A Thought
Jesus came to earth to save his people Israel. By their rejection, Jesus opened the gates of righteousness by becoming the foundation of salvation, open to all who will believe in him. We must give thanks and praise for this marvelous gift that God send his light, his Son, to shine upon us and lead us back to him. Hosanna to the King! We give you thanks. You are good and your loves endures forever!
Our Prayer
Father thank you for sending your Son to save us from our sin and disobedience to you. Open our eyes to see your love and forgiveness through Jesus the Christ. Replace the fear in our lives today with your love that endures forever. Help us to show your love and light to our world of darkness and sin. Today is the day of salvation! We will rejoice and be glad in it! Hosanna! Lord save us now. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
