Philippians 2: 5-11

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death–even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

A Thought

A lot of our lives are spent around “me, mine, and what I want”. Has anyone ever told you that you need an attitude adjustment? My parents tried very had to change my attitude and the way I acted, but my true attitude change only came when Christ changed my heart. Think a moment on what a change Christ faced when he came to earth out of love and obedience to God. Christ was equal to God but made himself nothing in human form and humbled himself to suffer and die a sinner’s death on a cross to redeem all of us who will accept his death as punishment for our sins. This is a lesson on how the attitude of every believer should model their lives, after the life of Christ. Our lives should be filled with humility and love, serving Christ and others while exalting the name of Christ.

Our Prayer

Father we desire to bring glory and honor to your name as we confess that Jesus Christ is our Lord! We humbly bow before you in repentance. Hosanna! Save us now! Hosanna! We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
