Psalm 119: 105-112
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. I have suffered much; preserve my life, O Lord, according to your word. Accept, O Lord, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws. Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law. The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts. Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.
A Thought
We must realize that all things done whether in darkness or in the light will all be revealed plainly in the sight of God to be judged by his word. When we accept God’s word as truth, we will be guided by its light to draw us to righteous obedience to God’s laws. When we are in the darkness of sin, we will easily fall prey to the snares of the wicked. Receive the light of the word for it will bring us joy, forgiveness and safety. Pass the statutes of God to all your generations so that they also will keep its decrees to the very end.
Our Prayer
Father thank you for the light of your word to lead us into all truth that will preserve our lives. Receive praise in the words we speak and the actions we take to bring glory and honor to your word. We desire to walk in the light of your word and to recognize the snares of the wicked. Cleanse our heart that we will keep your righteous decrees as our heritage forever. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
