Psalm 139 1-12
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you receive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
You hem me in–behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to ottain.
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed ion the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there you hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
A Thought
Our Heavenly Father knows each of us in every detail and has provided for all of our needs and concerns. His knowledge, his thoughts and his plans for each of us is for more wonderful than we could imagine. He knows everything about us–what we are doing, our thoughts, where we are and even the darkness cannot hide us from his Spirit of love and provision. God knows more about us than we can obtain the knowledge to understand about our selves or his great creation. Will you trust Him to lead you into his plan for your life? It will be better than the very best you could imagine!
Our Prayer
Father you have searched us and you know the plans you have for each of us. Thank you for giving your Son Jesus Christ to provide our salvation and every provision to follow your plan for our lives. We ask that you send your Spirit to guide us in our daily lives to joyful obedience to you. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
