Psalm 105: 1-11, 45b

Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing praise to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles and the judgements he has pronounced, O descendants of Abraham his servant, O sons of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is the Lord our God, his judgements are in all the earth.

He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.”

Praise the Lord.

A Thought

Today let us stop and remember with thanksgiving some of the treasures that we have hidden in our heart from long ago. One of the first treasures I remember was before I went to school; my grandmother was our Sunday School teacher in a small country church. After class Ma Cha would take us to the front of the church, filled with people who loved us and knew us by name. She lined us all up by size; some were so small we sat on the altar as we were held in place by an older child. There we sang songs about Jesus and his love for us. This was a small, poor community that was rich with love for everyone and trusted God to provide. And he did as they shared with each other! At that church I saw first hand prayer with weeping, calling out to God to save those love ones who stood outside of the open tabernacle (my Pa Cha was one of them) not feeling worthy to come in under the roof. Yes, Pa Cha finally came inside when this dear sweet lady, Sister Monearchey, was preaching a sermon filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. It was here my older sister, Margaret, received relief from a bad toothache when by prayer and faith, her tooth was miraculously filled. Where there had been a hole filled with decay, it then contained beautiful enamel. I give praise to God for being a part of a family that believes God. Only the beginning……….so much to tell of God’s love and mercy!

It is my prayer that we will lay aside things that separate us from God and his Word. We must become more like Jesus the Christ. He alone is the redeemer of all who will repent and come to him in faith believing. Let us all bow down before God, repent, ask God to heal our nation and give thanks in Jesus name, amen.

Our Prayer

Father it is such a joy filled with praise to be a part of your family. Thank you for the faith you placed in my heart so many years age. Help me to keep this faith in you growing as I pass my witness of you to this generation that they will experience your love for them. In Jesus’ name we praise you, amen.
