Ephesians 6: 11-18
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on there full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Saints.
A Thought
We are living in a battleground where evil is coming against good. We are in a Spiritual battle against an invisible enemy–the enemy of God Almighty. If we are to be able to stand and not to give in to the forces of evil, we must be suited for battle with the full armor of God. We must receive the truth and righteousness of Jesus the Christ by faith to receive our salvation from sin and the peace of God. Then we must be alert, live by the word of God–the Bible, and to be persistent to pray in the Spirit on all occasions and remember to pray for all of our brothers and sisters in Christ as we stand together for the truth of the gospel.
Our Prayer
Father help us to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood–our spouse, our children, our boss, or even our circumstances of life. We must overcome the forces of evil that come against us with the power of prayer and with faith in your word. We ask for an awakening by the power of your Holy Spirit for all of your church to be persistent in prayer, arm ourselves with the truth of your word and to make disciples for you. We ask in Jesus’ name, amen.
